Tuesday Tunes: David Nail Style

The ladies from Tuesday Tunes have decided this is the last month for this fun link up, so I am going to do my best to participate all month....despite the fact that I appear to be on one of my many breaks.  If it matters at all, I am desperately trying to finish up some scrapbooks before 2013 comes to a close, so hopefully I can share those soon!   Let Holli, Lauren and Leslyn (and me, too) know what you are listening to....I love knowing what is on "Repeat" in everyone's brain!

Maybe it was around 2009...not really sure, but I fell in love with this song by David Nail.  Red Light - It just grabbed me - can't explain why.  It was my ringtone for a long time.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and he did it again.  Another one that there is no rhyme or reason to why I love it, but I do.  Catchy and fun and right now, I just can't get enough.  Oh yea, like so many of those country boys he is a stinkin' cutie.  Enjoy and Happy Tuesday!

A Little Sneak Peek and Tuesday Tunes

Happy Tuesday!  I think the four days at my scrap retreat caused  crafty overload and I have yet to get back to it, but I am determined to have the Disney album done before the end of the year, along with my Cabo scrapbook from 2009 - that one is about 90% complete.  Usually once I set a concrete deadline for myself, things get done...so I am feeling confident.   I did want to share a few sneak peeks though.  If you follow me on Instagram, I apologize for the repetition.  Even though there have been a lot of changes in my life...not to mention my weight, since this trip - I am so happy to be getting it documented for Zachary.  He deserves it and down the road it will be a great keepsake for him.

I am going to get better pictures of the entire album once it is done, these were just pictures that I snapped at the retreat, amidst a very messy work station.

For those of you wondering, I did do a fair amount of Project Life style layouts,.  Honestly, not near as many as I had thought I would do.  I had a lot of fun doing the traditional layouts and just kind of ran with it.  I hope to have the complete album posted before we see 2014....bare with me!

Tuesday Tunes

Just a quick post today.....I have a million things on my "to-do list" at work since today is my Thursday, not to mention a growing list at home as well, trying to get ready for my scrap retreat this weekend.  It seems like I signed up forever ago and I can't believe that it is FINALLY almost here!

I have a confession to make.  My Spotify has been on a continuous loop of Luke Bryan for well over a week and I am not thinking that there is any end in sight.  And although I love so many of his songs, I figured that this one would be the most appropriate, since all I seem to be doing is "playing it again".  Oh yea, he isn't too rough on the eyes, either.  Have a great day, everyone!

Gettin' Crafty and Tuesday Tunes

Tuesday seems to be my posting day here lately....what can I say?  If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you may have seen some of these little pretties pop up this week.

I can't take all the credit....the paper is pretty much the star of the show.....I think it is GORGEOUS...such vibrant colors!  However, I did think of what to do with said beautiful paper.
I wanted to add some color  and detail to my in progress gallery wall, while also adding letters.  My current last name as well as my maiden name since I will be adding pictures of Zachary with my parents as the wall progresses.  These turned into just what I was looking for!!

I listen to a little bit of everything, so you just never know what is going to grab my attention, but one thing that never changes is my alarm music.  Contemporary Christian (KLTY 94.9 in the Dallas Ft. Worth market) wakes me up every single morning.  It puts me in the right frame of mind to drag my rump out of bed.  This great new song from TobyMac has been in the morning rotation lately and I can't get enough of it!

Tuesday Tunes

I know content has been lacking around these parts lately and for that I apologize.  There are posts brewing, I just haven't taken the time to get them typed out - I realized the other day that I never posted about Katie's visit...how in the world did that happen?  I also did a little mantel decorating for Halloween....which I NEVER do.  Hopefully, there will be some posts on those soon.  In the meantime, I am linking up once again with these lovely ladies:  Holli, Leslyn and Lauren for Tuesday Tunes. 

This is a fun link up...it just kind of makes me happy....puts a little spring in my step!  So yea, I am going to keep linking up.  Today, I am kind of grabbing a semi oldie from the "this makes me happy vault".  Colbie Caillat is not only G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S, but I love her voice and you would be hard pressed to listen to this song and not have your foot a tappin'.  Enjoy!

So, it definitely isn't quite as good as Blurred Lines, but there is no doubt that it will get your foot tappin' and maybe your booty shakin' if you happen to be somewhere that booty shakin' is appropriate...or not! And hey, that infamous striped suit that Robin was sportin' with Miley at the VMA's makes an appearance.  For the record, I have forgiven him that debacle...enough said.  Happy Tuesday, blog friends!

Tuesday Tunes

I know you guys are eagerly awaiting the culmination of my FL trip in pictures (or not)....and I promise they are coming.  Got a little off track, so I am going to side track for another day and hook up with Holli, Leslyn and Lauren for Tuesday Tunes.

I have been struggling lately, and this one, well it is pretty self explanatory...especially when you really listen to the words!

And this cutie patootie was in Dallas recently...I passed on getting concert tickets even though I had seen him the last three times he had been in town - if you haven't had the pleasure, he puts on an amazing show!  Why you ask, did I pass?  Well, the concert was outside in Texas, in Aug or Sept - enough said.  This one is one of my most favorites in a long time....so simple, but SO MUCH FUN!!!!!

I'm Back & Tuesday Tunes

I have returned from the Sunshine State and promise that I will post about it soon.  I did not get through my photography classes as I had hoped, but I think I did manage to get a few good pictures.  We were never at the beach at the right time to capture a great sunset, but at least we managed to get to two different beaches while we there.  Stay tuned....there will be more!!!!!

I am not going into a bunch of detail here, other than to say that I have a terrible struggle with stepping back and putting things in God's hands.  It is not that I think that I know better, but more that I can't sit back and do nothing and wait to see my path (yes, I do realize that means that I struggle with Faith) - I feel the need to be proactive.  God continues to put up with my nonsense, but gently shows me the error of my ways....OUCH!  Enough said.....I have loved this song since the first moment I heard it and today, I really need to soak it in!  Happy Tuesday!

In honor of the season premier of Sons of Anarchy, my pick was a no brainer.  

And hey, I am not looking to start a debate or a firestorm, but if you haven't watched SOA and you think that Charlie Hunnam was not a good choice for 50 Shades of Grey....well I hate to tell you - but he is going to KILL IT (the boy cleans up REAL good)!!!!!  Just my two cents - August 1, 2014 can't get here fast enough.  Happy Tuesday!

  

Random Runneth Over and Tuesday Tunes

Why yes, I am still alive....but I have had a horrible case of "I have nothing to say".....sad but totally true.  It isn't even writer's block I don't think, just nothing that I really thought you guys would be interested in.  There is a whole lot of random swimming around in my brain that I guess I can share in list form at which point you all may wish that I would have just kept it to myself.  Here goes nothing......

*my baby boy started junior high yesterday....which is scary enough as it is (at least for me), but this is his first time in public school - he has been in a bubble for the last seven years and mama is freaked out!

*I am beyond excited to FINALLY meet this sweet lady in person a week from Friday.  Katie is flying to the big ol' Lone Star Sate to see me for the weekend...EEEEKK!!!!

*the weekend after that I am heading to the Sunshine State with these beautiful ladies for Girl's Weekend round 2....Round 1 was Chicago 2012.  I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to some beach time and catching up with dear friends......MUCH needed.  Luckily Jennifer lives in Orlando, so she and her husband are playing hosts for Megan and I.  They have a beautiful house on the lake that I can't wait to see! 

*as I briefly mentioned literally months ago I finally got a DSLR....it was a gift and it kind of just fell into my lap.  Unfortunately the first night that I had it...the case was dropped and the fancy zoom lens that I had (although, I really had no idea how to use it) ceased to zoom.  Cue the tears...seriously!  There was actually a Nikon repair store not too far from home so I took it there.  The owner told me that although my camera was old, it was a great camera...all metal fittings and the new ones of course are plastic.  He was skeptical that the lens could be repaired, but suggested that I think about it and also check ebay.  I would have had to pay $55 just to have the lens looked at with no guarantee and then an additional $75 plus if it could actually be fixed.  I scored a perfect condition, totally functioning one on ebay for $107.25.  Go me!  I am back in business and ready to capture something great on my Florida adventure.  But remember, I still can't use that thing off of AUTO.  I do have two online classes through Shoot Fly Shoot that I am dying to delve into.  I am a visual learner so I am hoping they are really going to help me!  Can't thank KF enough for his generosity...I am beyond blessed! 

* I am still making progress at my new place, but there is still so much that I want to do.  I wanted to have my gallery wall done by the time that Katie came to visit, but I just can't commit yet.  I have a lot of ideas but am so chicken to commit, for fear that I am making the "wrong" decision.  I know - pathetic isn't it?  Still need curtains and the Expedit storage system for my scrapping supplies.  I did make progress on the outside a couple of weeks ago.  A friend from work came over and helped me with seven bags of mulch and she transplanted some plants from her place to my mine.  Some didn't take too kindly to the move and some are thriving.  I am getting compliments from several neighbors about the fact that I am taking care of the yard.  My duplex is a rental and apparently the last few renters did absolutely nothing, so I am feeling good that people are noticing.  I like for my place to look nice (although, I was not blessed with a green thumb)....even if it isn't actually mine but we are are planning on staying at least until Zachary graduates from high school, so I want to make it a home for us.

*My dear friends Holli & Todd are getting married at Delaney Vineyards in Grapevine this weekend and I seriously could not be more excited.  They are the most fun couple and things have been pretty crazy for them since their engagement in December......they so deserve to have the most wonderful of wedding days....I cannot forget my kleenex!!!  I have loved doing little crafty projects for them for their wedding.  They are leaving little goodie bags at the hotel for their out of town guests and she wanted them Texas themed.

At least I warned you...I believe that was the worst case of random that I have ever posted at one time.  I guess I did have things to say just nothing on it's own worthy of an entire post...lol.
