More Chicago Layouts

As far as scrapping goes, I had a pretty productive weekend.  I completed four double page layouts...all on Sunday.  Other than a couple of finishing touches on a few pages, I only have two pages to complete.  I am pretty excited as my goal for the year is to complete four albums, or one every three months.  I am very aware that the potential move in the next couple of months is likely to throw me off track, so being a bit ahead of schedule feels really good!

The day before we were heading home from this trip - which happened to be St. Patrick's Day, we decided to do a "bar crawl".  Once I was done feeling yucky from the heat - bar three to be exact - I was ready to join in on the fun.  We had a great time and with the exception of a couple of questionable drink choices  it was a day/evening to remember!  I think that I have enjoyed doing these pages the most, but the whole book  has had me reliving the trip and bringing back such great memories and isn't that what scrapbooking is all about?

I had these all cropped and up close like the first one, but apparently Photobucket had other ideas....sorry!  I really am trying to do better with the layout pics.  I probably won't be posting WOYWW tomorrow....the desk is pretty boring right now since everything was packed from my crop day at my friend's Sunday, but we will see.  Hopefully the next time you see Chicago layouts, it will be the book in it's entirety!  I did not mat near as many pictures as I normally do in this book.  For you scrappers out there.....do you mat the photos in your layouts or not?  Inquiring minds want to know.  The pictures for my next book - 245 to be exact, are sorted and the paper pad that I have been dying to work with, K& Company Que Sera Sera is purchased - bring it on!  Hope you are having a great week!

  1. These look great! I love that they're St. Patrick's layouts since that's the next holiday coming up! You've been so productive, bet that feels great! 245 photos??? Wow! You're on a mission! Haha!

  2. I love these! Your pages look great! Did you eat anything at Lucky's? I went once for AJ to try their challenge (eat 3 of their crazy sandwiches in 1 hour. He didn't win, but he tried!)

    245 pictures?! That is fabulous!

I used to mat all of my pictures. Now I definitely don't mat the majority, but I will mat something to make it pop. I'm not sure when that changed, next time I'm home, I'll have to take a look at my older books and see...

  3. Um yeah, was just going through the pictures of your layouts again to ask AJ which of these bars we've been to and realized that "Lucky" sign was an embellishment, not a picture of the bar Lucky's sign! Hahaha, I've lost my mind! Just ignore me :)

  4. Hi there! I have ventured over from the Texas Bloggers blog. I'm enjoying this little peak into your world! XOXO Mandi Roach

  5. I'm a new follower! I'm from Texas too! I did one scrapbook when my son was a baby but never finished :( I'm just not creative. You have some great pictures!

  6. I would enjoy scrapbooking but I have so many hobbies & crafts I need an apartment for storage! I like your blog and I'm just sending along some Valentine luv!!! Thank u for the nice giveaway

  7. This is such a fun layout!!!!
I love the "Show us your Irish side", teehee.
As for matting photos, I usually do, unless I have a lot of photos to fit on a page then no I don't.

  8. I love the St. Patrick's themed layout and papers, etc. It looks so festive and fun! Chicago sounds like a lot of fun on SPD! I usually mat at least one photo per page, rarely all of them. I'm too lazy, plus I like to keep the weight of my books down. They are heavy enough already!!

I love meeting new bloggers and love reading your comments....each and every one!
